We set many criteria when designing the kart centre. The most important being that the circuit should be great fun to drive,
have some very challenging corners and allow different racing lines through
certain sections. A recent extension to the centre sees an additonal circuit take shape allowing more drivers to enjoy the kart centre at the same time.
Like Thruxton race circuit, we have tried to make the kart circuits
a drivers track. Fast corners will reward the brave as they balance the
race chassis karts in big drifts, and the hairpins and chicanes will
find the last of the late breakers.
The use of banking at some corners,
coupled with combinations of bends linked together at others, allows each circuit combination to have many overtaking areas, and a different line may have to
be adopted when racing closely with another driver compared with a qualifying
lap. We also have a flyover - the first for an outdoor track
in the UK.
