Junior karting - from £15 per person

Junior drivers from 8 years old and over (4' 3" 1.30m) can now enjoy the Club circuit at Thruxton kart centre In the fantastic Cadet Kart

Junior drivers from 12 years old and over 5'0" (1.52m) can also now enjoy the Club circuit at Thruxton kart centre in the versatile Stratos kart

Drivers under 15 can use our race chassis Thunderkarts, but must hold a MSA National A Kart licence. Click here for info on our thunderkart events.

Junior Arrive and Drive sessions

Junior Super Prix - £40 per person

Helmet and race suit fitting
8 minute practice/qualifying
1 x 8 minute heat

Junior Grand Prix - £60 per person

Thruxton Junior Cadet Karting Club - £35 per event

New for 2009 and aimed at 8 - 12 year olds. Thruxton Kart Centre will be running a Junior Cadet Club over 4 Sundays starting on October 18th, then every other weekend - November 1st, November 15th and November 29th. And will run again on the new year - dates to be confimed.

The 4 events are designed to take budding race drivers through their paces whilst teaching them the fundamentals of kart racing. Below is the program of each event. For more information please call 01264 882231

1st Event
Sign on, Suit handout
Briefings, including flag signals
Handout of crash helmets and instructions on use and car of
Walk around and briefing on kart (including instructor signals)

On track (oval circuit)
Drivers take turns in doing simple exercises - accelerating, braking and steering control.
Debrief
Track walk with instructors
Lapping oval circuit
Lapping oval circuit with added chicanes
Debrief and return of Equipment
Issue of Thruxton Licence

2nd Event
Sign on, suit and helmet handout
Briefing on objectives for the day

On Track (130m - short hairpin circuit)
Track walk - racing lines etc
1st session on track and debrief
2nd session on track and debrief
3rd session on track and debrief
Return of equipment

3rd Event
As second but using the 210 (intermediate circuit)
Discuss and practice overtaking

4th Event
As per second and third event but using full club circuit and lap timing
